Al Gore Wins the Nobel

October 12, 2007 / by AngryRepublican

Hey, what can you say about a guy who wins an Emmy, an Oscar, and now The Nobel Peace Prize.

Congratulations Al Gore..!!

I can't say I was totally surprised by this. We did have a court ruling by a British judge who says Gore's movie, "An Inconvenient Truth", must have a disclaimer given to students explaining the 9 untrue facts in the movie.

President Carter won a Nobel for bringing peace to the Middle East. (Yes, I know that sounds funny, but he did try.

I am not sure why President Reagan and Pope Paul haven't received a Nobel for helping to stop the cold war arms race between Russia, Europe, and the US..??

But what do I expect? After all, Nobel was the man who invented dynamite. Nobel invented explosives. Dynamite, used in weapons, has killed more people than nuclear weapons.

And Europe has named a "peace prize" after this man.

SO why am I surprised they seem to favor liberals..?? The whole Nobel award concept doesn't make much sense.

One thing I am surprised about:

Why they haven't given a Nobel peace prize to President Clinton for his tireless work in getting a piece from interns.

(Maybe that would be pushing things a bit..??)

[LOL][LOL] Punster here relishes those last 2 lines! [THUMBUP] (And wouldn't you say that inventing dynamite wasn't exactly a "noble" act?)

Once again the Nobel folks have overlooked Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter.
    Is this a liberal plot?

Well, the peace prize has totally lost any credibility with this announcement. I understand the Czech President is even wondering how this happened. [LOL]

Hopefully this won't tarnish the really meaningful prizes for medicine, chemistry, literature, economics, and physics. I think it's much more impressive to award people who have spent a lifetime on their research and professions than Al Gore who claims to have been on this bandwagon for 30 years (although I can't find anything in my research to support that) but hasn't.

Congratulations to Mario Capecchi, Martin Evans, and Oliver Smithies for winning the Medicine prize; Gerhard Ertl for winning the Chemistry prize; Albert Fert and Peter Grünberg for the Physics prize; Doris Lessing for the Literature Prize. Economics won't be announced until Monday, but congratulations to whoever wins that one. All these people at least deserve it![THUMBUP]
