"My Kid Goat"

September 13, 2006 / by AngryRepublican

This was probably one of the hardest questions to answer. "Why did President Bush sit there, reading to small children, for 6 minutes while America was being attack..??"

Hell, I don't know why he was sitting there..?? The guy was probably in shock. But see, that is not a good answer. Americans want our president to jump up and bark out orders. Like John Wayne or Vin Diesel.

We want our president to do this…

"OK kids.. I can't read the GOAT book with you anymore. Terrorists are killing Americans. Maybe one of your family members. I must go save the world. Get Air Force One ready. Scramble those Birds from the Virginia AFB. Put Capt. Rogers on this. That guy chews nails. He will kill those bastards…"

But that isn't what President Bush did…

He looks tough when he is doing a prepared speech.

But, during the attacks on 9/11, Bush sat reading a goat book.

We do not want to think that our president, while America was being attacked, would sit and read "My kid Goat." (I think it was "My kid Goat..?? Hell, I don't know. I never had children's books when I was young. The only things I had to read when I was a child were The National Review and Playboy Magazine.)

I could remind people that there wasn't much President Bush could have done. The NY fire department wasn't waiting for a call from Bush before they entered the buildings. The NY Police were not just sitting there…. Waiting for a call from the President. It did not take a call from the president to scramble Air Force Fighters.

Folks, we are a republic. This stuff is automatic. We are not a dictatorship, where people are afraid to act until the "fearless leader" tells them what to do.

Probably the first time during the attacks, that the President guidance was needed, was to get authority to shoot down commercial aircraft. Which they did get authority from President Bush right away. (This was confirmed in the movie- "Path to 9/11." Which was based on the 9/11 Commission Report.)

So even if the president would have jumped up and barked out orders. They would have thrown is ass on Air Force One. They would have "Blacked out" radio contact. Air Force One would have virtually "disappeared" from the map. (Things have changed since the JFK assassination and the attempt on Reagan. The secret service actually take over and tells the president where they will be going.)

But still…

Bush probably should have done something more. Speaking of more. Michael Moore made a big deal about this in his "Fahrenheit 9/11" movie. It was from the promotion of that movie that I first heard about the "My kid Goat" situation.

Hey..

I am just as guilty. I have this romantic (Hollywood- type) view of what a president should do. "But what could he have done..??"

We do not want to think of our presidents being in "shock" and not moving. We do not want to think of our presidents being a sex addict. (Clinton) We do not like to think that one might be so paranoid, that he would (authorize) a break-in to see what the democrats have on him. (Nixon) We don't want to think that a president would be hooked on painkillers. (JFK) Or that a president would lead us to great victory in WWII, while that president was confined to a wheelchair. (FDR)

These things happen because they are human.

------------------------------------------------------------------

While I was thinking about this whole "My kid Goat" stuff..

I was reminded about a theory I have about terrorism. The first terrorist attack on American soil happened early in Clinton's presidency. (1993) The second Attack, 9/11, happened early in Bush's presidency. What if terrorists use the "change-over" of the American presidency to set up their attacks? What if it doesn't matter "who is in the White House?"

While we are bickering and debating politics before an election, terrorists are getting members into this country and getting set up. Then they attack during a new president.

As I was listening to the radio today, (Sept-13-2006) I had a Fox News Radio show on called: "Brian and The Judge." Their guest was- Michael Scheuer, a 22-year veteran of the CIA that used to head up "Alec Station," the Counterterrorist Center’s Osama bin Laden unit.

Anyway, when Mike was asked if he thinks America would be hit again, he said yes. And Mike believes it will be bigger than the last. This sent chills down my spine because this guy is an expert.

I too fear the next attack will be larger than 9/11.

I do not think they will hit New York City or DC. I don't know why, but Hollywood comes to mind. If I had to guess, I would say early in 2009. Somewhere in Hollywood while the new president is just getting started.

But I'm just guessing here. Maybe we have weakened Al Qeida to the point where they will focus on the Middle East.

I just do not want to see another 9/11.

Thanks for reading The Angry Republican

No one wants to see another 9-11. Only the stupidest of partisan liberal Democrats would quibble with Bush's actions in Florida. Liberals accuse Bush of being trigger happy and then criticize Bush for waiting for more information on September 11.

FYI... just sharing this with you[WINK]
    From Steve Elliott
    President
    Grassfire.org Alliance

    Cindy,

We have just received word from our key contact on The Hill
that the House is expecting to vote on the Public Expression
of Religion Act (HR 2679) next week!

Passage of this bill would deliver a crippling blow to the
ACLU because they wouldn’t be able to use the threat of
monetary awards to intimidate officials into removing Ten
Commandment monuments, Nativity scenes, crosses, or the
words "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance.

    ++ Petition Presentation Next Week

Cindy, I want to present 100,000 petitions to
Rep. Hostettler’s office in support of HR 2679, but there
    is a problem...

we are 25,000 petitions shy of our goal, and I have noticed
you haven't yet signed our petition.

Cindy, this is an important bill in the battle to
defeat the ACLU, and I am asking all members of our team
to take a moment to add their name to our petition by
    clicking here:

    http://www.grassfire.net/81/petition.asp?RID=7272712

After signing your name, please take a few additional
moments to forward this message to your friends and
family asking them to join with you by clicking here:

    http://www.grassfire.net/81/petition.asp?RID=7272712

Grassfire, along with our official partner in our expose
and defeat the ACLU initiative, The Liberty Counsel is
committed to exposing and defeating the ACLU and their
agenda to censor our religious heritage. This legislation
is an important first step--we must demonstrate to our
leadership that Americans are serious about protecting
    our rights.

That is why I am calling on you to take immediate action
with me so that we reach our goal BEFORE THE VOTE.

Please sign our petition, and alert your friends today,
to help push us past our 100,000 petition goal before
    our presentation next week.

Thanks so much for standing with us!

    Steve Elliott
    President
    Grassfire.org

P.S. Please forward this message as soon as you get it to
at least 20-30 friends urging them to sign our petition
    by clicking here:

On 9/11 one of the biggest problems was the lack of leadership and the disarray along the chain of command.

When you lead a country, and your adviser whispers in your ear that the country is under attack, the wrong response is to sit for eight minutes without any information or updates. Something like "Excuse me kids, but I need to go do some president stuff, I'll try to be back shortly" might be appropriate and not too scary.

On a more positive note, I was reading somewhere that the kids that were there that day are now teenagers, and they keep in contact and have formed a special bond, all having been part of such a historic moment.

If he got up and ran out, you would have called him "A cowboy."

How is it that some wet-behind-the-ears wingnut from Ohio knows verbatim what was whispered to the President? Odds are it wasn't,"...the country is under attack."

Listen, dipstick, he did precisely the right thing. He calmly finished with the kids. Only if he was in danger would there be a need for him to leave immediately. At that point in time, all they knew was that an airliner had crashed into one of the Twin Towers.

It was probably pretty comical watching you run around screaming that the sky was falling when you were told the news... right? Right!

"A second plane hit the second tower. America is under attack."
