Obama- George Bush's third term

Obama- George Bush’s third term

As Obama gains experience, so to comes wisdom.

It is easy to stand on the soapbox and tell The Daily Kos bloggers that you intend to pull all the troops out of Iraq- quickly.

(Frankly, you can tell those people at Kos just about anything, and they will believe you. Just as long as it is anti- military and anti- American.)

However, when you gain experience and knowledge, you realize that you cannot pull the troops out of Iraq- quickly. Insurgents will overrun the country and you will look like an ass.

With experience and wisdom comes the realization that you cannot set a “pull out of Iraq date”, (such as 16 months- the time frame that Obama told his liberals worshipers.) Because the enemy will wait until that date, overrun the country, and you will look like an ass.

Barack Obama doesn’t want to look like an ass.

So Obama has decided to NOT stick to a “pull out date” and NOT leave Iraq- quickly. Obama wants to end the war, but now he cannot tell YOU when.

It is easy to stand on the soapbox and tell people like EKYprogressive and Strider that you are against wiretapping without a warrant and that you would like to see the telephone companies, that help the United States Government, SUED because they helped eavesdrop on terrorists.

However, with experience comes wisdom.

Obama now realizes that to catch terrorists in the act, you may not have time to get a warrant. Telephone companies are helping the government and therefore it does not justify criminal punishment.

It is easy to stand on the soapbox and tell the Black community that you cannot throw your church or your reverend under the bus for things he may have said.

However, with experience comes wisdom.

After Obama actually took the time to listen to Reverend Wright, he quickly tossed the reverend under the- diesel sucking, 5:35- blue route- metro bus.

As a conservative, it would be easy for me to grab a pair of rubber flip-flops and wave them in the air, while chanting “flip-flop.. flip-flop..”

But I am not going to do that with Barack Obama.

If you people are intent on electing Obama as the 44th president of this great country, I dam sure hope he “flip-flops” on these and many other issues.

I applaud Obama on his “flips,” and I encourage Obama to do more “flipping- flops.”

But it is interesting to note that Obama has been telling liberals exactly what they wanted to hear. (But that isn’t what Obama will do, once he is president.)

Let’s sum this up for the peanut gallery, shall we…

Obama doesn’t mind if the government listens in on terrorists phone calls. Obama doesn’t want the phone companies punished, in court, for helping the government. And Obama is NOT going to give a date for the end of the Iraq War. Obama will pull the troops out, but he will not commit to how many, and when.

Isn’t that what we already have right now under President Bush..??

So, which candidate would be George Bush’s third term..??

Sounds to me like George Bush’s third term is Barack Obama.

Fisa Court allowed 3 days to get a warrant, 3 days that you could start before letting them in on it. Since its creation, it only said they had to stop in around 14 cases out of thousands. Baracks "compramise" did two things: first it brought Fisa court back in after Bush bypassed them altogether, and second it only provided "Civil" immunity, not criminal immunity to telecoms.

Being unsure when you will be able to pull out, and saying "100 years in Iraq" is fine by me are two different things. Isn't it...

If you want real flip-flops, here we go...

    1. F/F on "agents of intolerance", to pander to evangelicals
    2. F/F on the immigration bill that HE wrote, saying he wouldn't sign it.
    3. F/F on torture, the most telling to me since he endured it personally.
    4. F/F on off-shore Drilling (5 or 6 times now I believe)
    5. F/F on the privatization of Social Security.
    6. F/F on Iraq, saying it would be easy, then saying those that thought it would be easy were "mistaken"
    7. F/F on Tax cuts, saying he was against them because tax breaks in a time of war were "unpatriotic" (no SH1T!), then saying he would make them permenant.
    8. F/F on troops, saying he supported them, but not showing up for the recent GI bill that he OPPOSED (and only 6 voted against it, like his houseboi Lindsy Gramm)---Yet Bush "thanked them" for their efforts.
    9. F/F. on terrorism, saying it was bad, of course until the funders of terrorism began throwing money into his campaign, like with Carl H. Lindner Jr. the supporter of United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia.

You get my point, but I have a few more if you like...LOL.

Umm what..."Insurgents will overrun the country and you will look like an ass." excuse me, but we ALREADY look like an ass

eky ,,,, you and your kind do look like asses because you are ,,,the true Americans look like men because we ARE !!

  • AngryRepublican said 1 months ago

Shame on you EKY, I knew you hated this country, but I thought maybe you might learn to love it someday.

America is as strong as it ever has been. Pulling out of a war that we are winning makes one look foolish. (Like an ass.)

America is winning two wars overseas, we had the first female in command of the Space Station. How did she get there? By way of the American Space Shuttle. We have a little vehicle rolling around Mars right now exploring the surface. And, even though the economy is down, unemployment is still lower than most Euro countries. (America- 5%, France- 11%, etc)

America is stronger today than it ever has been, no thanks to you and your ant- American cronies.

By the way, we could have our first Black President. Has France had a Black President? Has Germany had a Black President? Has England had a Black Prime Minister?

    I think not..!!

So you can spill your anti-American crap on your own web site. But here on my site, we love this country..!!

Say what you want about John McCain..!!

But keep in mind that every time you liberals pick on the 71 year old Vietnam Vet, you help him out. (See Wesley Clark and his comments about McCain’s war experience.)

So I hope that you continue to pick on the 71 year old McCain. It shows your true colors and you will loose the election again, just like in 2004.

    Now, lets talk about you...

You were one of those wacky libs that was calling for Gitmo to be closed down, correct..??

Thanks to your hard work, these prisoners could be returned to their home countries- in which many might be put to death.

The other option- rendition, in which these prisoners will be tortured (actual torture- fingers cut off, electroshock, etc) from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, etc.

I am sure that you will be receiving a letter of thanks from the Gitmo detainees for your hard work in getting them released- into a worse situation.

    Good job..!!

As always, you people on the left never thought about what would happen to these prisoners if released to another country. Your only goal was to make President Bush look bad. But you may have sentenced some of these prisoners to death. (Instead of an American military court where they could have argued their case.)

You need to move away from the political and think about human life. I am a conservative, however I will abandon President Bush and John McCain if they move away from my principals of freedom and anti- socialism.

Your man- Obama is moving to the center and throwing YOU under the bus. And I am loving it..!!

Good Luck defending Obama’s statements that he makes this week..!!

(You are going to need it..!!)

It does not make any difference what ODUMBA says today ,or what he said yesterday or last year , he tells so many Lie's he knows the press will never go back and do a fact check on him, he never intends to do any of the things he talks about , all he wants is to be appointed as a BLACK GOD for all white people to bow down to and kiss his ass !!!

  • ekyprogressive said 1 months ago

"all he wants is to be appointed as a BLACK GOD for all white people to bow down to and kiss his ass !!!"

And that is really why republicans don't like him, isn't it joe..

  • imatexasbushie said 3 weeks ago

This woman will never bow down and kiss his BLACK ass!    If Odumbamumba is elected, I can tell my insulin and my upcoming dialysis treatments, GOODBYE because the SOCIALIST ASS, will be sure that I won't get them.  Oh but the worthless, whimpy Liberals will GET THEIR medical needs met, and get all of their welfare programs, and their   cutsie    gay marriages!  I can't wait for the day that they get THEIRS - - we all have to meet our Maker, and it isn't Odumba and His Kind of Ilk!  HA! LSL

Do pledged Obama delegates have the obligation to switch votes at the convention if they feel that he no longer represents the sentiments of those that elected him?   The DNC rules not only allow it, they encourage it:   http://www.pledgednotbound.com/
  • ekyprogressive said 1 months ago

Us on the left don't have to make Bush look bad, he does that on his own..

Winning? Did you watch the news this morning, another Afghanistan bombing, 40 dead, 100 injured. Sounds stable to me...LOL. Winning is creating the oil colony, that is the rights true definition of stable. They never really cared about anything else. Not the Kurds, not the wmds, and certainly not democracy. Winning would be getting the ones who really attacked us, but the fact that most of them were Saudi, and the Bush Crime Family loves living in the pants of the Saudis makes it very inconvienient. Lets just call them "foriegn resistance fighters" and attack these other nations over there....

Wes clark, as a fellow soldier is entitled his opinion, but it was HIS opinion alone. At first I was in disagreement, but you know, being shot down DOESN'T MAKE YOU a fit leader. Sorry, but it is the complete package we need to examine, not just if he was in a war or tortured or not. And considering he was tortured, yets supports torture, says volumes against his character to me. There is your "career politician" for you. Willing to throw prinicples under the bus just to win. McCain is a sorry excuse for a politician, plain and simple, and won't do anything positive for this nation.

"Strong as it has ever been"....Wh-What? One more conflict and we are toast, that comes from our top military commanders, not me or the left.

And where in my comment did I say I hated my country. If I didn't love it, I wouldn't go on about the things I do, to try to get it to improve. That is what I want, improvement, advancement, better conditions for not just us but those we affect. No torture, which is why I had problems with Gitmo. Now, once we do get it closed, our works must continue, to improve the treatment of prisoners by other nations, to end this practice of extrodinary rendition and to force other nations to stop torturing as well.

  • JOEZsREPUBLICANPAGE said 1 months ago

You small minded little wimp your whole comment says you hate AMERICA , you hate white  American men , if you want to improve things in AMERICA , pack your bag and move to Iran , oops they don't allow queers there, how about Indonesia  they seem to have a lot of them there , the prisoners there don't deserve as much kindness as they are getting now, they should be SHOT at dawn ,,

as for ODUMBA being black ,,that's not the big reason for not voting for him , BUT for being a commie ,terrorist MUSLIM , who just happens to be a pinto baby does not help him , and when the TRUE african americans  wake up and find that he does not have a "DROP" of Slave Blood in his veins they will dump him also ...

    Eky,

I realize that you believe President Bush is a genius, with BIG friends in the BIG oil business, and Bush- being so brilliant- he was able to single handedly invade Iraq.

But, Bush isn't that bright. (Sorry to tell you that.)

Bush had the idea to invade Iraq and remove Saddam, however- it took congress to give him the authority. (Yes- democrats in congress gave authority to do so.)

So when you say "we" (America) already looks like an ass, I take offence at that. We do not look bad to the rest of the world. The only people who have a problem with America are liberals around the world. However, liberals around the world are losing elections.

Besides, who cares what they think..!!

We are NOT one conflict away from destruction. You are uninformed.

Take Iran for example- we could bomb Iran from the air for 6 months. Pound the country and they have nothing that could stop it. In that time, we could implement the draft and have enough forces to invade Iran, by ground, by the end of the air campaign. (We did that during WW2, and could do the same today.)

You need not worry about that..!!

Iran knows this to be true and that is why they didn't say a word when we fired on their gunboats a couple of weeks ago. Iran doesn't want to piss with us, even though they "talk tough."

As far as Obama and McCain…

McCain has flipped on many issues. However, McCain is flipping in my direct. (Which is what he needs to do.)

Obama is "flipping" away from the liberal left. (That is NOT good.) I just heard the co- founder of "Code Pink" say Obama needs to be careful. They could vote for Nader or McKinney(??) Green Party candidate.

The Daily Kos crowd is not happy with Obama, and the Move On people are not happy.

He has problems. Obama is not change. He is the same as any other politician.

If anyone hates America or is ashamed, I will personally help you leave.  I hear Iran or Saudi Arabia is nice this time of year;)

  • ekyprogressive said 1 months ago

Yea, Bush loves the Saudis! I know some real America haters on Penn. Avenue. Be sure they pack their toothbrushes! They like to hear themselves talk and really will annoy those not fortunate enough to be behind a burka with their air pollution...LOL

Four years after the invasion of Iraq, the high and growing demand for U.S. troops there and in Afghanistan has left ground forces in the United States short of the training, personnel and equipment that would be vital to fight a major ground conflict elsewhere, senior U.S. military and government officials acknowledge.

More troubling, the officials say, is that it will take years for the Army and Marine Corps to recover from what some officials privately have called a “death spiral,” in which the ever more rapid pace of war-zone rotations has consumed 40 percent of their total gear, wearied troops and left no time to train to fight anything other than the insurgencies now at hand.

The risk to the nation is serious and deepening, senior officers warn, because the U.S. military now lacks a large strategic reserve of ground troops ready to respond quickly and decisively to potential foreign crises, whether the internal collapse of Pakistan, a conflict with Iran or an outbreak of war on the Korean Peninsula. Air and naval power can only go so far in compensating for infantry, artillery and other land forces, they said. An immediate concern is that critical Army overseas equipment stocks for use in another conflict have been depleted by the recent troop increases in Iraq, they said.

“We have a strategy right now that is outstripping the means to execute it,” Gen. Peter J. Schoomaker, Army chief of staff, testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee on Thursday.

    Someone was misinformed alright...

  • AngryRepublican said 1 months ago

    Oh, yes…

Someone is misinformed. (At least in history, as it pertains to American willpower and past military action.)

I will gladly give you an example:

When Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, America was not prepared. Japan devastated our Pacific Fleet. Within 6 moths, we had most of the bombed ships repaired and battle ready. We began building a new fleet.

Americans, during WW2 were brave, for sure. However, they were still flesh and blood humans.

We can do the same thing today, if attacked again. That, I can guaranty you. (Hell, my state of Pennsylvania has the 5th largest group of armed personnel in the world. Counting all the registered hunters- who target practice regularly.)

So, yes, if you ask a military commander if we can fight another battle today, with current troops, the answer you will get is no.

I will say this again, because it isn't sinking in:

If we are attacked by Iran, or Russia, or China: We can bomb these countries from the air for 6 months, without batting an eye. Half of the American population is ALREADY armed, and by implementing the draft, we will have enough forces within 6 months.

The military official in the story that you posted is not thinking about WW2, the War of 1812, the Revolutionary War, or the devastating blow that the US military delivered in the first Gulf War against a fully armed Saddam.

You folks in the "doom and gloom- Democratic Party" are funny..!!

The glass is always half- full with you people.

(Unless a democrat is in the White House.)

When a democrat is in the White House, you folks all tune out of politics. Your democratic president could be lying under oath, trying to over-throw Cuba, building up a War in Vietnam, or bumbling oil suppliers in the Middle East- causing gas shortages, and you folks all "look the other way."

It is the same thing that you are doing today, with Obama.

Barack is moving closer to the right and you folks are saying; "oh, well- at least he's a democrat.."

I send this one back to you…

Did you check under your bed last night to see if the boogie man was there..??

  • ekyprogressive said 1 months ago

So you have gone pro-draft now?

  • ekyprogressive said 1 months ago

P.S. I have no intention of tuning out of poltics, its too much fun to watch...LOL.
